How the Talent Program Transformed My Career
When I first heard about the Prowareness Talent Program, I had just graduated from VU University Amsterdam with a specialization in Leadership and Change Management. My background was primarily focused on intercultural management, and I had some experience in the recruitment sector. The tech world was new to me, and to be honest, I had never imagined working in IT or at a bank.
First Encounter with Scrum
It was during a fair organized by a student organization that I first came into contact with the concept of Scrum and the role of Scrum Master. Although I was initially hesitant because of the Dutch language barrier, I decided to go anyway. And I’m so glad I did!
The Power of Group Dynamics
The Prowareness Talent Program isn’t just any training program. From day one, you’re immersed in in-depth discussions and activities that go beyond the usual introductions. One of the standout features of the Talent Program is the group dynamics. Trainees aren’t isolated; they begin this journey as a close-knit unit. I appreciated that we were with a group going through the same experiences and processes. This group setting fosters a sense of camaraderie, allowing trainees to share experiences, challenges, and insights.
Personal Growth and Leadership
What I value most about the program is its focus on “people.” As a Scrum Master, it’s essential to be a servant leader, and this requires a certain degree of vulnerability and self-reflection. The Talent Program encouraged me to look deeper within myself and understand how I could be effective in my role.
Team Transformation
One of the most rewarding aspects was witnessing the transformation within my team. When I started at Rabobank, I was told I would be leading a “difficult” team. But with time, patience, and the skills I’ve gained, I saw how the team began to believe in the Scrum process and recognize its value.
Say “yes!” to the Prowareness Talent Program
To anyone considering participating in the Prowareness Talent Program, I want to say: do it! It’s not only an opportunity to learn new skills, but also to grow personally and make an impact in the world of Agile and Scrum.
