Talent development with impact: Yash’s story

Prowareness Talent Program - Yash & Thijs in gesprek
While the Prowareness Talent Program is usually delivered in a group setting, Yash completed the program as the sole participant at client Transdev. A unique experience in which, through intensive one-on-one collaboration with his coach, he was given the space to learn, reflect, and grow. Together with his Prowareness coach Thijs, he looks back on the journey.

A New Direction, a New Opportunity

Yash: “I had already held many roles, from business developer to team lead, but I realized I was looking for work that truly aligned with my values and interests. Scrum appealed to me because it is all about collaboration, structure, and continuous improvement.” Through Prowareness, he joined Transdev, where he started working immediately as a Scrum Master.

Learning by Doing

Over the course of the year, Yash grew tremendously in his role. “I started with few expectations, but above all I wanted to learn and be challenged. The combination of coaching, training, and hands-on experience made me increasingly confident. I no longer doubt my knowledge or my approach.” His coach Thijs recognizes this growth as well: “Yash made an incredible amount of progress in a short time. From asking questions about retrospectives to independently organizing PI plannings and connecting teams across national borders.”

The Importance of a Sparring Group

As the only participant at Transdev, Yash sometimes missed something essential: a group of fellow talents. “I had colleagues, but no direct peers going through the same journey. That made it harder to spar and reflect with people in a similar situation.” Prowareness has since responded to this by preferably offering the Talent Program in a group setting, allowing participants to challenge and support one another.

The Bond Between Coach and Talent

Thijs and Yash developed a strong coaching relationship. “We were open and honest with each other early on, which made the journey effective,” says Thijs. “Yash consistently asked sharp questions, set clear boundaries, and showed a strong eagerness to learn. That made the year especially valuable for me as a coach as well.”

Yash looks back with pride. “I do not have a concrete five-year plan, but I now see many opportunities. RTE, product management, maybe Agile coach someday. For now, I want to enjoy where I am.” He describes the coaching as supportive without being directive: “Thijs challenged my way of thinking rather than telling me what to do. He shared his insights and experience without steering me, which allowed me to grow into my own role as a Scrum Master. He listened carefully and offered support where needed, with the goal that I would be able to stand on my own by the end of the year.”

He is now permanently employed at Transdev, a clear testament to the value he brings.

Talent Program with impact

The Prowareness Talent Program is more than a traineeship. It is an intensive development journey that combines personal coaching, hands-on experience, and ample room to learn. Yash’s experience shows just how effective this approach can be and why group learning is the next step forward.
